This policy explains what data Widd collects, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have.
Data we collect
- Account data: your phone number or email; passwords are stored with one-way hashing.
- Profile data: first name, date of birth, gender, country and city, bio, interests and compatibility answers.
- Media: photos and voice recordings you upload, and voice messages in chats.
- Approximate location, with your permission, to compute distance and show people nearby.
- Conversations with the people you match with.
- Usage data: likes, matches and activity times.
- Purchase data: store transaction identifiers (we never see your card details).
- A device token for notifications, with your permission.
How we use it
- Running the service: discovery, compatibility, chat and notifications.
- Safety: account verification, photo review and handling reports.
- Subscriptions and coins: verifying purchases and recording them in an append-only ledger.
- Improving the service with aggregated statistics that do not identify you.
What others see
Other members see your first name, age, city, approved photos, bio and interests. Your phone number and email are never shown to members, and your like is only revealed when it is mutual. A super like arrives as an alert that does not reveal who sent it.
Who we share data with
We never sell your personal data.
- App stores and our subscription management provider, to verify purchases.
- Our push notification service, to deliver alerts to your device.
- Our AI provider when you use Wingman: we only send what you can already see on the other person’s profile (first name, city, occupation, interests and published answers) to suggest an opener.
- Authorities where the law requires it.
Retention
- Verification codes are deleted automatically after they expire.
- Expired or revoked sessions are deleted automatically.
- Read notifications are deleted after 90 days.
- Photos rejected by moderators are deleted from storage immediately.
- Coin transaction records are kept for accounting and legal purposes.
Your rights
- View and correct your data in the app.
- Ask us to delete your account and data.
- Withdraw consent for location or notifications in your device settings at any time.
Security
Passwords, verification codes and session tokens are stored as irreversible hashes, and sessions are revoked immediately when you change your password or an account is suspended. Voice messages in a chat are only accessible to its two participants.
Age
Widd is for adults only; people under 18 cannot sign up.
